What’s On

ANAM 2024 takes place from 12-14 July

Lorraine Nash & Kate Dineen

Lorraine Nash & Kate Dineen

Born in what is known as Ireland’s heartland of Irish traditional music, County Kerry, colloquially known as “The Kingdom”, Lorraine Nash began her musical journey at six years of age, becoming a talented multi-instrumentalist of traditional Irish music – Fiddle, Harp, Tin Whistle, Banjo - she incorporates many elements of this into her current recordings, while also drawing from her love of country and folk music. Citing an array of influences from Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch, Lorraine remains authentic to her own style and song writing sensitivity. In the wake of her recent album “All that I Can Be” critic John Meagher said of Lorraine, “If Neil Young was the master at writing songs that get to the heart of the human condition, the same can be said of Nash's from-the-heart compositions.”

Hailing from the South-West of Ireland, Kate Dineen combines intricate accompaniments and introspective lyrics that take you on an ethereal journey.

Now based in Dublin, Kate has won the Noel Brazil songwriting competition for her song ‘Great Escape’. She has played a number of festivals including; K Fest, The Next Big Thing Festival 2024, Battle for the Burning Lake, 96/1 and Cork Folk Festival. She has gigged extensively throughout Ireland and has supported acts such as Stephanie Rainey, Haley Heynderickx and Marc O’Reilly.

Her single 'Good Guys' was a finalist in Hot Press's Ireland Music Month competition with Radio Kerry. Her single 'Invest' was selected for New Music Friday UK Spotify editorial playlisting. Kate has been played on RTE Radio 1, RTE 2FM and BBC Ulster as well as on local radio across Ireland. She was named #Hotfor2023 by Hot Press Magazine and was selected to play at The Next Big Thing Festival in 2024. Kate has signed with Winding Way Records and has released her second EP as well as latest single Doomscrolling in 2024.
